Closer to God

You need to be with people who want you to be closer to God. Spend time with them and you'll find yourself closer to God (1 Corinthians 15:33).

The blessings you don't see

Praise God for what you've seen God do. But also praise God for the blessings you don't even realize you have (Luke 6:38).

the Lord delivers

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all" (Psalm 34:20).

God's promises

The more you worry about your problems, the less you'll be inspired by God's promises (1 Peter 5:7).

Even Jesus waited

Even Jesus had to wait for God's timing. Wait patiently for the promise God has given you (Isaiah 11:1).

Lead your life

Don't just read the Bible. Let the Bible lead your life (Psalm 119:105).

God knows

You don't have to try to hide your faults from God. God knows them and still loves you (Jeremiah 23:23-24).

Be an encourager

Celebrate the good things. Too much negativity gets too much attention already. Be an encourager (Hebrews 13:3)!

Turn away

"Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it" (Psalm 34:14).

God is never done

No matter what season of life you're in, God is never done with you. Don't let age keep you from serving God (Psalm 92:14).

Move you forward

Stop kicking yourself for the mistakes you've made. God has already forgiven you and wants to move you forward (1 John 1:9).

How great God is

Since you serve such a great God, your life should have fruit that shows how great God is (John 15:8).

You only need

You don't need strength or power to overcome the world. You only need faith in God (1 John 5:4)!

You have a ministry

You have a ministry! Ask God to show you how your gifts and talents can be used for his purpose (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Shouts of joy

"Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy" (Psalm 126:5)!

Whenever you need him

The good thing is God is right there with you whenever you need him. The bad thing is if you think there are times you don't need him (Hebrews 13:6).

Be joyful

You don't need to have the world to have happiness. God has already given you eternity--be joyful (John 5:24).

Real religion

Real religion points you to the needs of others first. When you serve others, you can trust that God will see to your needs, too (James 1:27).

Closer to the glory

Of course you fall short of the glory of God. That doesn't mean you're not moving closer to the glory of God (2 Corinthians 3:18).

An encouraging word

If you've ever needed to hear an encouraging word before, don't forget to give someone else one, too (Hebrews 10:25).

Out of my distress

"Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free" (Psalm 118:5).

Negative thoughts

God doesn't put negative thoughts into your spirit. God speaks abundant life to you (Isaiah 55:11).

Forgiveness is healing

Forgiveness is healing. To forgive is to allow God to heal the deep wounds you have suffered (James 5:16).

Use the freedom

Use the freedom that's been given to you to glorify God, who has given you the ultimate freedom from sin and death (Galatians 5:1).

Disagree with someone

You can disagree with someone without tearing them down or thinking less of them. Speak wisely (Proverbs 25:11).

God is taking his time

If God is taking his time to teach you something, don't rush through the lesson (Hebrews 10:36).
