If someone gives you a compliment, receive it with humility and joy (Romans 15:2).

Rest in God's presence

Don't hide from God's presence. Rest in it (Exodus 33:14).

The worst of other people

Don't be so quick to justify yourself while automatically thinking the worst of other people (Matthew 7:5).

Peace within the storm

God's peace within you doesn't always still the storm. It does still your fear so you can face the storm (Isaiah 40:1).

Don't fret

Don't fret over your mistakes. Ask God for the wisdom to learn from them (Psalm 25:4).

Remember the deeds

"I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old" (Psalm 77:11).

Remember before you complain

Before you complain about what's not working out for you, remember what God has already done for you (Deuteronomy 6:12).

For the joy of loving God

You're not doing the right thing for the heavenly pay off. You're doing it just for the simple joy of loving God (Luke 10:27).

Anything nice to say

If you don't have anything nice to say to someone, ask for forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

Don't gossip

How do you keep gossip from destroying trust, unity or faith? Don't gossip (Proverbs 26:20).

Here you are

There may have been times when you didn't think you'd make it through, but here you are today (James 1:4)!

The path of life

"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11).

They irritate you

Pray for the people that seem to irritate you the most--you both need it (Matthew 6:14).

Seeing God's will

You won't see God's will if you're not willing to follow God's way (John 14:6).

The way things are

Just because that's the way things have been doesn't mean that's the way things should be (Luke 16:15).

Pray in and with confidence

You can pray in confidence because God hears you, and pray with confidence because God will act (Acts 12:5).

Advice of godly people

God's wisdom often comes in the advice of godly people. Listen carefully (Proverbs 19:20).

God already knows

God already knows what you'll face and how you'll overcome. Trust him and seek him to see it, too (1 John 4:4).

My lips will praise you

"Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you" (Psalm 63:3).

You're an heir

God's grace has made you an heir to God's blessings (Titus 3:7).

Abide in Christ

You can't abide in Christ if you aren't seeking his presence (John 15:4).

Giving our lives to Christ

The only way we can be where God wants us to be is by giving our lives to Christ, and through a commitment to prayer (John 5:21).

What you won't do

There's no telling what God wants to do through you once you stop telling God what you won't do (Isaiah 1:19).

You are a shield

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high (Psalm 3:3).

True control

God gives you power not so you can control your life, but so you can know where true control comes from (Psalm 66:7).

The One you trust

Pray in a way that takes your eyes off your trouble and onto the One you trust (Psalm 13:5).

Growing faith

If your faith in God is not growing, what is it really doing (2 Peter 3:18)?

The big blessings

You'll never be ready for the big blessings if you don't know how to be thankful for the small ones (Luke 16:10).

Give God control

Give God control of your life in order to know what true freedom is (1 John 2: 6).

More joy

"You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound" (Psalm 4:7).

True joy

Don't let discouragement set in. Pray for God's true joy to overcome discouraging times (Romans 15:13).

Build on God's faithfulness

God's promises aren't built on our sense of time. They are built on God's faithfulness--and God is faithful (Psalm 33:4)!

You're already holy

What might change if you realized God has already made you holy (Leviticus 11:45)?

Today is precious

Remind yourself how precious today is before anything or anyone tries to ruin it (Genesis 2:9).

Better you?

God's not trying to make a better you. God wants you to know the better he has for you (Romans 6:4)

Wondrous things

"Open my eyes, so that I may behold wondrous things out of your law" (Psalm 119:18).

The One who blesses

Stop seeking the blessing. Seek the One who blesses (Jeremiah 29:13).

Receive the rest

Chances are you don't need to get away. You need to receive the rest God's already given you (Exodus 33:14).

In good hands?

If the church had to depend on your commitment, would the church be in good hands (Matthew 16:18)?

God works through your mess

You don't have to have it all together before you turn to the Lord--God works through your mess (Romans 8:28)!

Your battles

Some of your battles are worth having. Most aren't (Exodus 14:14).

Salvation belongs to the Lord

"Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people (Psalm 3:8)!

Fear is natural

Fear is natural. Trust is habitual (Psalm 56:3-4).

It wasn't God

Someone may have said you weren't good enough--it wasn't God (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Guard your heart

To guard your heart means to be mindful of who and what has influence on you (Proverbs 4:23).

For your benefit

Whether God asks you to start or stop doing something, it's for your benefit (Ephesians 5:7).

Believe and trust

If you believe God multiplied a few pieces of fish and bread to feed a multitude, you can trust God will give you what you need (John 6:11).

God is merciful and gracious

"But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness" (Psalm 86:15).

Patience requires grace

Patience requires grace. You'll have to be graceful if you're going to be patient (Ephesians 4:1-2).

Good enough

Who you are is good enough for God. Who you are becoming is a gift (2 Corinthians 5:17).

You're generous

There's no such thing as a generous Christian. If you're a Christian, you're generous (Deuteronomy 15:7-8).

Knowing God's joy

Nothing keeps you from knowing God's joy like a bad attitude does (Colossians 3:10).

God wants good

God is good, and God wants good for you (Psalm 34:8).

Befriend faithfulness

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness" (Psalm 37:3).

Don't waste life

Live and build the life God desires for you. Don't waste it doing only what you want (Psalm 37:4).

God's plan seems too big

If God's plan seems too big, you might be on the right track (Jeremiah 1:5).

Attitudes about people

If your attitudes about people haven't become more loving, you haven't been paying attention to Jesus (Philippians 2:5).

Work through you

Just as much as God wants to do for you, there's so much he wants to do through you (Romans 8:28).

You owe patience

Patience is something you owe to people not because of who they are, but because of who God's been to you (Ephesians 4:2).

Fearfully and wonderfully made

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:14).

The beginning

One single act of faithfulness rarely changes the world, but it could always be the beginning (Acts 28:2).

Better giving

Better giving is better living (2 Corinthians 9:7).

The mess you created

Don't blame God for the mess you created. Turn to God in the mess you created (Acts 3:19).

Peace and power

The peace of God helps you to know the power of God (John 16:33).

God has not given up

You may know people who have given up on you, but you don't know a God that has (Joshua 1:9)!

All you his saints!

"Love the Lord, all you his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride (Psalm 31:23).

Change your situation

If you want to change your situation, you might have to change your attitude first (Ephesians 4:22-24).

Always a way to be faithful

No matter what you're facing, there is always a way to be faithful (1 Samuel 12:24).

The enemy doesn't care

The enemy doesn't care what takes you away from God. Be honest about what you do that keeps you from knowing God more (Philippians 3:10).

God's refining you

Don't give up just because things don't work out. God's refining you through your struggles (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

God's plan and time

It might be God's plan, it just might not be God's time (Jeremiah 29:11).

My heart may fail

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26).

Expect more of yourself

Expect more of yourself not because you need to be better, but because God has given you so much to live for (1 Timothy 6:12).

Force your way

If you can't find God's way, don't try to force your way. God will show you his will (John 7:17)

Living to impress

Living to impress people is a burdensome way to waste your days. Life peacefully with God (Proverbs 29:25)!

Dwell on the good

Don't dwell on the wrong someone has done to you. You might forget all the good God has done for you (Deuteronomy 28:8).

God's grace outweighs

God's grace always outweighs your sin (Ephesians 2:8).

The Lord hears

"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles" (Psalm 34:17).

Your most lost

Even when you feel most lost, you are never out of God's sight (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Push through on your own?

You aren't more faithful if you try to push through on your own. God has put people in your life as a blessing to help you (1 John 3:17).

Turn from God

If you want to turn from God, God will let you. You'll just have to live with the consequences (Jonah 1:17).

Behind your back

Don't listen to what people say behind your back when God has already spoken to your heart (John 10:27-28).

God is sustaining you

Circumstances can wear you out, but God is still sustaining you (1 Corinthians 1:8)!

Take courage

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14)!

Just wait

As hard as it might be, if you'll just wait on God, you'll see God's goodness (Lamentations 3:25).

God takes away

Give thanks to God for what he gives, but also for what he takes away! He has taken away your sins (John 1:29).

Missing God's life

Don't miss God's abundant life just because you're chasing the good life (John 10:10).

More than a plan

God's will is more than a plan. It is the fullness of what God desires to transform in your heart and world (Romans 12:2).

Every word of Christ

Every word of Christ you learn adds to your faith in him (Romans 10:17).

Don't waste God's blessings. They are best shared (James 1:27).

Your words can be a blessing or a burden to people. Do no harm with your words (Ephesians 4:29).

Live mercifully

You'll never be able to fully describe how merciful God is, but you can do your best to live mercifully like God (Luke 6:36).

Trusting in God

Trusting in God doesn't take your problems away. It strengthens you as you walk through them (Psalm 9:10).

I will not fear

"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me" (Psalm 118:6)?

Speak ill of someone?

Don't speak ill of anyone you're not willing to pray for (Matthew 5:44).

If you've been wronged

If you've been wronged, God will bring justice and make things right ( 2 Thessalonians 1:6-7 ).

Honest about what you did

Be honest about where your problems come from. Don't blame God for something you did (Acts 24:16).

Truly happy

You'll never be truly happy if you aren't seeking God (Psalm 1:1).

The day the Lord has made

If this is the day the Lord has made, don't let anyone else's negativity ruin it ( Psalm 118:24).

Slow to anger

"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love" (Psalm 103:8).

Anger an opportunity

Don't let your anger be an opportunity for the enemy to hurt you or others (Ephesians 4:26-27).

What feeds you?

Your fear feeds off your insecurities. Your trust feeds on your hope in God (Hebrews 11:1).

Trifling?

Why do we work hard for the things we know won't last, but trifle with what we know is eternal (Matthew 6:19-20)?

More forgiveness

Some people need your forgiveness once. Others need it 77x7 times (Matthew 18:21-22).

Gladness that is yours

In the presence of God there is gladness that is yours to have (Acts 2:28).

You emboldened me

"When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me" (Psalm 138:3).

Listen to hear and to know

Listen for the voice of God in order to hear the words of God so you can know the plan of God (John 10:27).

Looking out for others

Being able to look out for others is a way to tell if you believe God is looking out for you (Philippians 2:4).

Enslaved to a lie

A lie might be able to keep you out of trouble, but it will surely keep you enslaved (John 8:32).

Motivation overcomes fear

Don't let your motivation be overcome by your frustration (Psalm 34:18).

Someone can change

As hard as it might be, never give up praying and believing that someone can change (Acts 9:15).

He removes our transgressions

"As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12).

Someone's example

We're all living from someone else's example. Be a faithful example someone else would want to follow (1 Timothy 4:12).

You have the opportunities

God gives you the opportunities to make a difference in the world (Ephesians 5:16).

Living with unforgiveness

Forgiveness can be tough, but never as much as trying to live with unforgiveness (Ephesians 4:31-32).

What you pray about

You don't forget what you pray about--that's why it's important to pray for others (1 Timothy 2:1).

God's plan first

Don't ask God to bless your plan. Ask God to bless you with his plan first (Jeremiah 1:4-5).

Before the mountains

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God" (Psalm 90:2).

Peace and healing

God has promised that you can have peace & healing within all of life's pains (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

1/2 serve

God's glory deserves your full devotion. You can't half-serve the King of Kings (Matthew 6:24).

Things change

You've seen a lot of things change in our world. The love of God is not one of them (1 Corinthians 13:13)!

A simple spark

A simple spark of creativity can be God's way of inspiring you to get started with something big (Exodus 35:31-32).

A heritage

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward" (Psalm 127:3).

Stubbornness is different from persistence. One takes you away from God. The other gives you strength to pursue God (Hosea 4:16). 

Ahead or a hold?

Don't worry about getting ahead in life. Make it your priority to get a hold of the life God wants for you (Genesis 2:7).

Other people

You're called to care about the people other people don't care about (Proverbs 14:31). 

A way out

If there's a way out, God will lead you through. If there's not, God will give you the peace to overcome (2 Timothy 1:7).

Teaching our children

When we teach our children the ways of God, we are teaching them the ways of peace (Isaiah 54:13).

Great peace

"Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble" (Psalm 119:165).

Why cheerful givers?

God loves cheerful givers because they know that God will provide everything they need (2 Corinthians 9:7-8).

Worship is

Worship isn't about how well you sing. It's about how holy and good God is (Psalm 99:5).

That pride!

Pride is a characteristic you can easily see in others, but is hard to admit to yourself. Be careful with pride (Proverbs 16:18).

Let other people know

When you've experienced how powerful God's grace is, you can't help but let other people know about it (Acts 4:20).

God sees

You may not get recognized or rewarded by others for what you're doing , but God sees the good you do and is pleased (Matthew 25:40).

God is the strength

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26).

God is stronger

Don't believe that evil is weak. It is strong. But God is stronger (James 4:7)!

Praying for patience

You don't have to wait until you need patience to pray for it (1 Thessalonians 5:14).

God's purposes

God always provides for his purposes (Philippians 4:19).

Fully present

You can't be everywhere at once. Where you are, be fully present (Psalm 16:11).

God's victory

God's victory is your victory (1 Corinthians 15:57).

God's face shines

"Make your face to shine upon your servant, and in your loving-kindness save me" (Psalm 31:16).

Good Friday

On Good Friday, we learn that Jesus was always more willing to give us his life than we are to give him ours (Isaiah 53:3-7).

Nothing new

There is nothing new about the love of God. It just keeps making all things new (John 13:34).

Not a lot

You don't have to do a lot for Jesus--just everything he asks you to do (Matthew 21:28-31).

Always a reason

There is always a reason to praise God (Psalm 29:2).

Countless ways

There are countless ways to show God's love. Someone may be trying to show you (Proverbs 17:17).

Happy are those

"Happy are those who consider the poor; the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble" (Psalm 41:1).

Don't forget to ask

Don't forget to ask God what he wants (Matthew 6:10).

Generosity is a sign

Generosity is a true sign of thankfulness (Acts 20:35).

Your sermon

You may never preach, but you have a sermon to live (Psalm 71:24).

God's standard

Humility is God's standard of success (Proverbs 22:4).

Attraction to distraction

Don't let the attraction to distractions take you away from where God is trying to lead you (Luke 10:38-42).

My pleas for mercy

God doesn't run out of grace. May you have all you need for today (Hebrews 4:16)!

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever (Psalm 23:6).

Opening the door

How you interact with others has a way of opening the door to faith conversations (John 1:14).

God has an order

God has an order. It may not be anything we can calculate or make total sense of, but God is ordering our days (Genesis 1:1).

Something's wrong

If you're always right, there's something wrong (Proverbs 9:9).

Wish or waste?

Having a purpose without a plan is a wish. Having a plan without a purpose is a waste (Psalm 90:12).

Even Monday!

Even Monday is a day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad (Psalm 118:24).

How precious

"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them" (Psalm 139:17)!

Choose joy

Too many people live frustrated. Since God has blessed you, choose to live joyfully (Proverbs 17:22).

Building the kingdom

Every act of service you give to God, no matter how small, builds the kingdom in some way (Matthew 25:40)

Be careful

Be careful. Your faith has fruit, but so does your sin (James 1:15).

There isn't a heartache that God cannot heal (Psalm 34:17-20).

What you have to give

What you have to give is usually more important than what you have to say (Acts 20:35).

Learn from others

Others have struggled just like you. Why not talk with them to learn how they remained faithful (Proverbs 1:5)?

The difference of prayer

There's a difference between saying a prayer for something and being in prayer for something (Luke 18:1).

Like them or love them

Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you can't love them (Luke 6:27).

Not by accident

Holiness doesn't happen by accident. Discipleship requires discipline (Titus 1:8).

Refuge and shield

"You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word" (Psalm 119:114).

No small blessing

People around you need to be encouraged. It's no small blessing when you can encourage someone (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Look for the image of God

Look for the image of God in each person and you'll always see the best of them (Colossians 3:10).

You are forgiven

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen! (Romans 5:8)

God prepares

God prepares you for what God has already prepared for you (Proverbs 21:31).

The Helper

Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Helper. The Spirit helps you to to keep your faith, strengthen your hope and empower your love (John 15:26).

Take heart and wait

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14).

Be encouraged

Don't be discouraged by someone's opinion of you. Be encouraged by God's promise for you (Psalm 28:7)!

When you don't feel appreciated

For the days you don't feel appreciated by the people around you, just remember you're loved by God (Leviticus 19:18)!

God's purposes

God's purposes are greater than your plans (Proverbs 19:21).

What's holding you back

Name what has held you back. But don't blame it for keeping you back (1 John 5:4).

Exalt the Lord

"Exalt the Lord our God; worship at his footstool! Holy is he" (Psalm 99:5)!

Faith is an example

Your faith is an example to your family and friends. Lead them well (Acts 16:31).

The little things

Don't forget to celebrate the little things other people do (Number 6:24-26).

What you're becoming

Pay attention to what you're becoming. If it isn't Christ, it's something else (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Wait patiently

God's timing is connected to God's purpose. You can't rush either of them. Wait patiently for what God is doing (Psalm 37:7).

You're covered

Your mistakes are covered by God's mercy. Your sin is forgiven by God's grace (Hebrews 4:16)!

Great and awesome name!

"Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is he" (Psalm 99:3)!

Complaining and disobedience

Your complaining is often a first step to your disobedience (Psalm 106:25). 

Sharing the love of God

If you're not sharing the love of God, what are you doing with it (Mark 16:15)?

Truly great

You can't be truly great if you can't be humble (James 4:6).

What's frustrating you

Don't let your frustrations dictate your faith. Let your faith guide you through what is frustrating you (Proverbs 29:11).

Stronger than you think

You're stronger than you think because God is your strength. Let God uphold you (Isaiah 41:10).

Protect me

"Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me" (Psalm 40:11).

Entertain negative attitudes

You don't have to entertain negative attitudes from anyone, even yourself (Titus 3:10).

Prayer harder

Some days you pray. Some days you pray harder (Matthew 6:7).

Without the church

If you're trying to live out faith in God without the church, you're always going to fall short of the full blessing of God (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Being in need

Being in need doesn't make you inferior. It makes you human. We need each other for prayer, for wisdom and for encouragement (Galatians 6:2).

Fooled

Don't be fooled by the enemy's tricks. Keep your mind focused on the goodness of God (Philippians 4:8).

Direct my footsteps

"Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me" (Psalm 119:133).

Become like Jesus

The more you do things like Jesus did, the more you become like Jesus (1 John 2:6).

Look up

The more time you take to slow down, the better you are able to look up to God and give thanks for your blessings (John 1:16)

Be patient with yourself

Right now, you may not be or do everything for God that you want. Be patient with yourself. God is (2 Peter 3:9).

A Kingdom issue

If it's not a Kingdom issue, don't make an issue out of it (John 18:36)!

Pleasing Christ

Christ has called you his own. Free yourself from the burden of having to please anyone else (John 15:16).

The Lord loves the righteous

"The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous" (Psalm 146:8).

Waste of time?

You'll never waste your time studying God's word (2 Timothy 3:16).

Do something without praying

You can do something without praying. But you cannot pray without doing something. True prayer moves you to action (1 John 3:18).

Anything nice to say

If you don't have anything nice to say, what's wrong? God has loved you unconditionally. You should be able to say something nice (Ephesians 4:29).

Patience tested

When your patience is tested, know that your faith is growing (Hebrews 10:36).

The Lord takes pleasure

"For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation" (Psalm 149:4).

Blessed

Being blessed isn't about the things you have. It's more about your attitude toward what you have (Hebrews 13:5).

Dream with God

Learn to dream with God and you'll begin to realize your dreams were too small for God (Ephesians 3:20).

Loving God?

Too many people are in love with their image of God rather than who God says he really is (Habakkuk 2:18).

Change in attitude

A change in attitude is often the first step to a change of heart (Proverbs 17:22).

Every act of obedience

Every act of obedience you offer to God builds a lifetime of faithfulness, and gives glory to the Lord (Jeremiah 7:23).

Eyes on the Lord

"I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken" (Psalm 16:8).

Have hope, have God

When you have hope, you have God (Romans 15:1).

God can transform

God can transform every failure, every bit of brokenness into a thing of beauty, purpose and glory (Isaiah 61:3).

Move

Your faith in the living God can move mountains. It should be able to move you, too (Mark 11:23).

Be the one

Everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone asks for forgiveness. Be the one who does (Ephesians 4:32). 

Know the difference

You need to know the difference between an obstacle that needs to be overcome and a warning that needs to be heeded (Proverbs 1:7).

"Come and see what God has done:he is awesome in his deeds among mortals" (Psalm 66:5).

God hasn't shown you

Maybe it's not impossible. God just hasn't shown you how to do it yet (Matthew 19:26).

You can overcome

The One who has already overcome the world gives you the peace to know you can overcome any trial or suffering, too (John 16:33).
